Saw a woman from ballantyne today who was born in Europe. She was happy that I did skin examinations the American way, meaning the patient is not nude. I'm glad also. As a Charlotte dermatologist, I don't know how well that would go over here in the South. I had visited a dermatologist in Pennsylvania last year and saw patients with him while evaluating medical record systems. He got everybody naked. Everybody. I don't know who was more uncomfortable, the patients or me. I saw a woman from Waxhaw who mentioned to me that her prior charlotte dermatologist is no longer her dermatologist because of the "naked" examination issue. I reassured her to keep on what she would wear to a pool.
